Structure of the department of Russian Language for 2011-2012 academic years.

Department Chairman: Zhanpeisova Ulbosyn Akhmetzhanovna — the doctor of pedagogical sciences, the professor, the academician of the International academy of sciences of pedagogical education (Russia, Moscow), the Honorable worker of education RК, the author of working programs and textbooks on Russian for 5,7,10 classes of schools with the Kazakh language of training.

In total – 28 teachers: from them: Zhanpeisova U.A. d.p.s., professor – 1, candidates of science Chumbalova G.M., Darkembayeva R.D., Nizamova M.N., Ozekbayeva N.A., – 4, docents – 4, senior teachers – 15, teachers – 6, trainee teachers – 2.

The basic scientific direction of the department is research of professionally oriented teaching of Russian in conditions of credit system training problems.

Primary goal of PTS is formation among medical students of the communicative competence, ability to solve means of Russian communicative tasks in the basic spheres and kinds of speech activity to use the scientific literature on a specialty for reception of the information, promoting establishment of the professional competence.

Positions of the scientific activity of the department:

  • innovative strategy and tactics of teaching Russian as nonnative in conditions of modernization system of higher education;
  • forms and methods of teaching process organization in conditions of credit technology;
  • technique activation of cognitive activity of students,  perfection of their speech and language competence of training and professional sphere of dialogue, formation of the language person of the competitive specialist;
  • methods of the organization of out-of-class independent work of students in conditions of credit technology;
  • selection and presentation of a language material in view of students specialty.

Scientific research student’s work (SRSW)

Annually on the department SRSW subject Olympiad, the competition devoted to «Day of a science»of the university, competition on the best composition are carried out. Students of  the 1 st course  of the Kazakh branch take part in interacademic student’s actions.

Innovative activity of the department

Members of the department widely use the interactive methods stimulating speech activity of students within the framework of program themes, reflecting cognitive interests and requirements of trainee, methods of training to language and a communicative basis, introduction of scientific style designs, use of the educational texts connected with the future profession of the trainee.

Results of introduction are formation of the communicative competence, inculcation of professional dialogue culture in forthcoming profession of a physician.

The department of Russian KazNMU is provided with academic materials according to SCES, instructive letters, working programs, syllabuses for all departments.

Work academic program «Russian language» for students of medical university is calculated to 6 credits and includes 4 modules.

  • 1 module – Introduction course of  «Russian language»,
  • 2 module –  «Functional styles of the speech»,
  • 3 module – «Scientific text. Compression of the scientific text»,
  • 4 module – «Culture of speech behavior in the professional sphere».

Educational work is carried out according to the Plan of the basic activities on realization of strategy of KazNMU development for 2011-2012 years. The department carries out huge educational work: meetings, excursions, competition Russian songs, readers are organized, etc. The club of aesthetic education «Kalamkas» is successfully operates ( dir.- sen.teach Asembekov S.B.).

In the process of generation of the plan interests of a diverse spiritual life of students are come into account:

  • broadening of aesthetic outlook
  • spiritual and moral culture
  • observance of norms of a healthy life

On results of 2011 for activization of work and high parameters in preparation of employees on SD and ES the gratitude to department of Russian Language is declared to Botayeva U.A., senior teacher of responsible for SD.

At the present time on the background course are training students from Afghanistan.

The department makes scientific work on «Modern Management in the context of globalization in the Republic of Kazakhstan.» Teachers Department annually takes part in national and international scientific conferences held by institutions of higher education RK: Avgambaeva N.N. International Scientific Conference «Science-2030» University of Alatau, Meirbekova E.M International conference «Modern problems of the economy» KazATISO, present papers, publish articles in the collections of conferences.

Under the guidance of teachers in the Department Students majoring 050507 — Management successfully participate in intercollegiate student conferences, the award of diplomas.
Since its inception, the department regularly increases taechers qualification, as evidenced by the presence of 35 certificates.

Student Scientific Circle

Research work of students (NIRS) is an important aspect of identity formation of the future scientist and specialist qualifications.

In this regard, the department «Management and marketing in health care and pharmacy with the basics right» KazNMU them. S.D.Asfendiyarova valid scientific student circle «Manager 2015» in which students have the opportunity not only to acquire knowledge and high professional skills, but also to develop their intellectual abilities and leadership qualities. Research and student group allows the student to begin full-time academic work, to find like-minded people on it, which you can consult and share the fruits of their research.

In the 2011-2012 academic year (the current period) were performed the following activities:

  1. For the students’ participation in the annual Republican competition NIRS drafted and approved the list of NIRS, which were distributed among students of members of the circle. Carried out detailed advice on writing research. In general, the Department of the teachers have been given advice to plan and stage major events subsequent work on the topic. In January 2012 hosted the first (Cathedral) tour of the Republican contest NIRS University, and February — the second (university) tour.
  2. The head of the researches students Nurpeisova A.A gave a presentation on scholarship programs (The Eurasian Undergraduate Exchange Program) and Edmund Muskie (The Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program). She brought to the student members of the group information that is open to the set of Scholarship Eurasian Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) 2012-2013. As part of our presentation, students learned that these scholarships give them the opportunity  training for one academic year at universities and colleges in the United States.
  3. In the framework of the visit of the professors in the program KazNMU them. S.D.Asfendiyarova in October 2011 student members of the group attended a public lecture by Dr. Sigmund Bluvbanda, an internationally recognized leader in quality, unrivaled lecturer on statistical methods for the study of quality issues and risk assessment on the topic: «Management Analysis: Quality Management».
  4. In December 2011 the members held a discussion meeting of the NSC, dedicated to World AIDS Day. Members of the NSC Erdenbekova S. and E. Omirserikova prepared a report on the subject. In particular, students are told about the history of this issue that the World AIDS Day (World AIDS Day) first celebrated on December 1, 1988, after a meeting of health ministers of all countries, called for social tolerance and the exchange of information on HIV / AIDS . In general, students reported that annually celebrated on December 1 World AIDS Day serves to strengthen the organized efforts to combat the pandemic of HIV and AIDS spreading in all regions of the world and discussed the issues of prevention of AIDS among young people.
  5. In December 2011 members of the circle NSC conducted a seminar-debate on the theme «20 years of economic reform: results, experiences and perspectives», dedicated to 20th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was attended by teachers Department, representatives from other universities and academics. In their speeches, all the speakers stressed the historical importance of celebrating the 20th anniversary of independence, said the main events of the formation of Kazakh statehood, was informed of the developments in the socio-political, socio-economic, cultural and human development in Kazakhstan, focused on interfaith and inter-ethnic stability.

With an emphasis on Kazakhstan’s foreign policy initiatives, particularly in the field of nuclear disarmament. During the event, participants were handed out informational materials about the history of development of Kazakhstan during the period of independence, as well as the documentary film «20 Years of Independence of Kazakhstan.»

Department of Management and Marketing in Health Care and Pharmacy with the Basics Right

Department «Management and marketing in health care and pharmacy with the basics of law» was established in KazNMU im.S.D. Asfendiyarov order № 23 from 28.08.2007, the license According to Republic of Kazakhstan Series AA № 0000005 dated November 19, 2001. Government standard education and Republic of Kazakhstan 3.08.311-2006, Government standard Republic of Kazakhstan 5.03.002-2004 Department is preparing and issuing the following specialties:

• 050507 — Management (Bachelor management)

• on the basis of secondary education (full-time education) — 4 years

• based on the average — Special education (distance learning) — 3 years

• based on the average — Special education SSO (distance learning, no relative) — 5 years

• on the basis of higher education (distance learning) — 2 years.

 

Graduate of Bachelor in specialty 050507 — Management is assigned an academic degree — Bachelor of Management.

Areas of professional activity of graduates in this specialty (Bachelor of Management) are the real sector of the economy, health and pharmaceutical, financial, banking, business and entrepreneurship.

The functions of the professional activities are:

  • Planning guidelines for the development of production and management;
  • The formation of the structure of the production facility and management structure, the optimal construction of production facilities;
  • Motivation, activation of their labor;
  • Coordinating and supervising all aspects of activity management.

In 2009 the first issue was produced by undergraduates majoring 6N1101 — Medicine (Public Health. Health care management). In September 2009 the specialty 6N1101 — Medical transferred to the newly created

Department of «Health Policy and Management,» a section of the «Law» that was in the structure of the department «philosophy, political science, sociology, and the foundations of law» has been transferred to the department «Management and Marketing in health care and pharmacy».

Since the day Department of Education made the following graduates:

2007-2008 academic. , the – 127,

2008-2009 was — 91 people, incl. 14 undergraduates

2009-2010 academic  — 169 persons.

The department is about thirty subjects (Base of marketing and management, Theory and Practice of Management, Financial Management, Production Management, Marketing, social regulation, Administrative Law, Business Law, Business Organization, Human Resource Management, etc.).  Department developed EMCD, programs and guidelines for the implementation of projects and dissertations, the passage of the training, production practices. Printed textbook for the course «Financial Management» in the Kazakh language (10 pp).

Teachers leadership by the department of educational and work experience of graduates and diploma works.

The head of the department «Management and marketing in health care and pharmacy with the basics right,» Ph.D. Zhaksygulova Gulzira Kenzhegulovna, Director of Studies department Avgambaeva Nagima Nurseitovna. Teaching staff of the department «Management and marketing in health care and pharmacy with the basics of law» consists of 12 teachers, including part-time two of the leading Universities in Almaty (Kazakh-British Technical University, KazEU name T.Ryskulov, etc.), from them: Ph.D., Assoc. — 4 senior teachers — 6 teachers — 6.

Teachers department is 34% have Ph.D. At the national language lesson are 10 teachers (84%), including 4 teachers have a degree. The average age is 39 years of PPP.

Methodical work of employees
Currently, the Department intensified its efforts to strengthen:

— Guidelines for the use of interactive teaching methods in the preparation of students majoring in «Management», Zhaksygulova G.K., guidelines for the passage of the educational and practical training of students specializing in «Management», Zhaksygulova G.K, Tasmaganbetova A.A Tulebaev F.S., Avganbaeva N.N Baytekova K.J., guidelines for implementation of diploma students of specialty «Management», Zhaksygulova G.K, Meirbekova E.M, Tulebaev J.C,

— Production of training manuals on legal subjects in the national language.

Social Work

Academics and student staff of the department are actively involved in social and cultural-mass work, participate in the annual event «Become in university students», etc. In the musical contest «Star», lecturer Baytekova K.ZH won first prize. The 80 — anniversary of the University stands ready, «Ata Zan», «The Department», «The rights and obligations of a citizen in health» and a video about the activities of the department. PPP Department conducted training courses on «Management» for teachers, interns, and art. laboratory of the university. Department of vocational guidance work is carried out among graduates of city schools.

Department of Medical Biophysics, Information Technology and Mathematical Statistics

Doctor of Science, professor, corresponding member of International Academy of Informatization,  Mugulsum Omarovna  Nurmaganbetova is a head of department «Medical Biophysics, Information Technology and Mathematical Statistics». Candidate’s dissertation on subject: «Development of Information- technology Methods of Diagnosis and Formation Computer-aided System based on them» defended in Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi in 1995, in 1999 awarded the lecturer title by occupation «Information Technology». Since 2009 she has the title of corresponding member in IAI. Author of scientific works more than 65, particularly 2     monographs: «Information-mathematical modeling of Diagnosis and Disease Prognosis» (2007), «Mathematical Modeling in Medicine» (2010), there are 5 certificates of authorship. She has published schoolbooks: «Elementary Information Technology in Medicine» (1997), «Basis of Higher Mathematics in Medicine» (2004). She has academic pursuits on the subject: «Mathematical modeling in Medicine» on the basis of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi.

The foundation history of medical biophysics, information technology and mathematical statistics department

The physics department was founded on the 25th November of 1931 year with top ten departments of the institution. At the time of formation our department included 4 people (1 head of department, 2 teachers and 1 laboratory assistant). From 1931 to 1932 the physics department was located in the rooms of Kazakh pedagogical Institute, were had been conducted laboratory researches and read lectures.

In the postwar period teaching and educational process carried on with 3 faculties students: therapeutic, pediatric and sanitation. In the second half of 50th years with organization of correspondence courses and evening classes, also opening of pharmaceutical and stomatological faculties, educational process in the department became more diversified.

In 1966 in the department was organized spectral laboratory,  it could help employees  to conduct educational process and scientific research works at the same time.  The main subject was: «Definition of the contents of microcells in biological fabrics». In this period of time in the department was founded mechanical workshop for repairing instruments.

In connection  with introducing new Educational standards in  1975 were taught such disciplines like medical electronics and medical cybernetics for the second course students of therapeutic and pediatric faculties, also was entered new  discipline like materials science with the obligatory laboratory researches for students of stomatological faculties. The department’s staffs work out all necessary materials for teachers and students.

Head of department of Medical Biophysics, Information Technology and Mathematical Statistics in 1931-2012.

Vsevolod Fedorovich Litvinov is a founder of department– Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, since 1931 up to 1934. Then Ismail Pavlovich Maslennikov– lecturer, was head of department since 1935 up to 1940; Petr Petrovich Lazarev– academician, director of biophysical laboratory of                   Science Academy of  the USSR, was head of department since 1941 up to 1942; Nikolay Sergeyevich Akulov-academician, full member of Science Academy of         Belorussian Soviet Socialist Republic, was head of department since 1942 up to 1943; Abram Aleksandrovich Sluckyi –academician, full member of Science Academy of   Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, was head of department since 1943 года up to 1944; Ismail Pavlovich Maslennikov-was head of department since 1945 up to 1954; Valentin Mikhailovich Kazachevskiy- lecturer, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, academic secretary of Astro-Physical Institute of Science Academy  of  KazUSSR, was head of department of Physics since 1955 up to 1972; Zhumash Kudusovich Kudusov — lecturer, Doctor of science, was head of department since 1972 up to 1984; Berik Mukatovich Adibayev — professor, Doctor of Physical-Mathematical science, was head of department since 1984 up to 2008. From 2008 till today Doctor of Science, professor,  corresponding member of International Academy of Informatization, Mugulsum Omarovna Nurmaganbetova is a head of department.

Department at the present stage

Department  employees actively participate in versatile scientific researches. Professorial  teaching staff of department accounts 28 staff units, of them there are:  2 professors, 1 corresponding member of International Academy of  Informatization, 8 candidates of sciences and 1 undergraduate.

From 2006 the teaching process are continued according to Educational State Standards. Department  employees worked out all necessary materials for teachers and students. Department employees  was organizing  activities are aimed at coordination of structural subdivisions activity of educational – methodic block on optimization, modernization of educational process in accordance with Bologne declaration principles. Model of graduate’s professional competency, based on competency-oriented   approach to education has been worked- out by the department.

Today  the department are teaching disciplines like medical biophysics, computer science, mathematics, the biological statistics, information technology in public health services, the biological physics, medical electronics, programming of medical and biologic processes, numerical methods of the analysis for students of 1rd, 2rd and 3rd courses.

There are 8 computer rooms, 4 educational-laboratory rooms and 6 educational rooms. Educational process includes widely modern methods of teaching and control.

Scientific activity of department

The workers of department  have published about 74 scientific publications, of them there are:

  • 2 monographies,
  • 1 textbooks,
  • 7 educational supplies,
  • 65 articles (in Russia and far abroad: Tel-Aviv, Israel, Praga,  Czech Republic)

Scientific research work of department conducted  individually, according to the initiative scientific programs and based on other high schools  (KazNU named after Al-Farabi, Almaty State University  named after Abai and etc.).

Student’s scientific group

Department constantly works with students of scientific group.   They are working according to subjects which were defined by scientific interest of teachers.  Scientific researches of the department basically devoting for using medical biophysics, information technology and mathematical statistics in medicine.

Scientific works of students which were prepared in the department, annually noted at conferences.

In addition, within the frame of the Scientific Day, a student of 1rd course of General Medicine faculty Panarbek Gulnaz with subject «Macromedia Flesh programmasynyn comegimen dayindalgan electrondyk okulyk» have been won first place on competition “Student and scientific and technical progress ” at the University in 2009.  (research supervisor, teacher Barakova А.S.). Department conducted educational researching works with students,  they are using interactive technology for preparation presentation and  analyzing medical access based on special statistical program.

Social educational work

Department have been responsible for social educational work with students of  “General Medicine” and  “Management in Public Health and Pharmacy”  faculties. Social educational work in department  is carried on in accordance with the submitted plan. There are conducted various social useful labours.  For example, within the frame of “Kazakhstan 20 year of independence” were carried out open lessons on subjects «Tauelsizdyk – Zheltoksannyn jemisi» и «Tauelsizdyk — tugyrym». Students visit places of interest in Almaty.

 

Public work

All department’s employees are responsible for public commissions and actively participated in University’s life. They have social commissions in faculty areas as well as in University areas.

Department of Kazakh language

Department of Kazakh language is one of the first departments of Almaty medical institute. The first head of the department was an Academician of KazSSR Ismet Kenesbayevich Kenesbayev. In 1937 the department was headed by K.E. Breusova and it was named as “Department of Russian language”.

In 1938-1952 this department was named as “Department of languages”.

In 1989 the department of Kazakh language was newly reorganized. Up to 1996 candidate of philological sciences K.K. Ayapbergenova was a head of the department.

In 1996-1998 senior teacher Doskeyeva Baldyrgan Zharmukhametovna was appointed as a head of the department, in 1998-2008 -candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Iskhan  Beibit Zhalelovich.

In 1997-1998 the course of psychology, pedagogics and Russian language was included into the staff of the department. In this connection the department has become as “The department of Kazakh language with the course of psychology, pedagogics and Russian language”.

In March, 2009 candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Suatai Sabit Kurmanzhanovich was appointed on competitive base as a head of the department. He is an author of 2 textbooks “Іскери қазақ тілі”, «Іс қағаздармен жұмыс», about 30 scientific and educational methodic articles and he is also a compiler of standard  program on such subjects as “Computer translation”, “Contrasting linguistics and “Applied linguistics”. He is a member of international Association of turkologists.

The teachers of the department carry out a great scientific – research work. Annually the teachers take part in the work of international, republican scientific conferences and seminars, where they publish their scientific works. There are 5 candidates of philological sciences at the department, out of them 2 teachers have passed the High Attestation commission and confirmed the title of an associate professor. The head of the department C.K. Suatai has completed thesis for a defending Doctor’s degree. Associate professors B.Zh. Doskeyeva and R.N. Darmenkulova approved their theses for Doctor’s degree.

In 2009 the department carried out an International scientific-practical conference on the theme “Медицина білімі – мемлекеттік тіл аясында”. The conference was aimed at improving the status of State language and decisions of global problems during teaching process.

An associate   professor B. Zh. Doskeyeva is a teacher with a great theoretical and practical experience. She has made a valuable contribution to the method of teaching professional lexics in medicine. B.Zh. Doskeyeva is an author of textbooks “Қазақ тілі” for continuing groups of the 1st course of high schools (Almaty, 2011 ) and Kazakh language for high  medical schools (2002). These textbooks are used during teaching process in Republic.

In 2001 candidate of philological sciences, associate professor R.N. Darmenkulova published a textbook “Медициналық мәтіндер жинағы”, in 2004 – “Қызықты қазақ тілі” with the co-author, associate professor M.B. Kokkozova, Darmenkulova R.N. is an author of 11 scientific articles on her thesis theme.

Candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Isayeva Zh.T. is an author of many textbooks, such as: “Қазақ тілі. Фонетика” (Almaty, 2003), “Қазақ тілі. Сөзжасам. Морфология”, (Almaty, 2004), “Әдеби тілдің нормасынан ауытқыған сөздердің тарихи-лингвистикалық аспектісі” (Almaty, 2004).

Senior teacher G.Zh. Tungushbayeva published a textbook “Қазақ тілі сабақтары” (2008) for students of stomatological faculty.

Teachers of the department Khabdin K.E. and Tattybayeva A.E. published a textbook “Қазақ тілі сабақтары” in 2005.

Senior teachers of Latin language Te R.B.and Zhantasova S.O. published a textbook “Collection of exercises on Latin language for students of medical faculty” (2006),  Zhantasova S.O. – “Латын тілі жаттығулар жиынтғы” (2003), Tlegenova S.E., Zhantasova S.O. – “Латын тілі типтік бағдарлама” (2003) and  Zhantasova S.O., Nurmuhambetova B.N. “Латын тілі пәнінен анатомиялық терминология” (2006).  T.D. Tatarenko published in Kazakh and Russian  languages a textbook “Tests on Latin language  anatomo-histological  terminology for the students of the 1st course of KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendyiarov”  (2006), A.A. Tokpanova and N.U. Abulkhairova – “Grammar of Latin language in tables” (2006), where were given the schemes of Latin grammar. Teachers of Latin Language Tatarenko, A.A. Tokpanova, A.D. Isabekova, E.K. Lisaridi published “Test tasks on Latin language” (2010).

Teachers of the department have published numerous monographies, dictionaries, textbooks and carry out a fruitful educational – methodic and scientific work.

In February, 2010 the course of Latin language was included into the staff of the Kazakh language department.

Nowadays, there are 27 teachers at the department, out of them 5 associate professors, 14 senior teachers, 4 teachers, 2 senior laboratory assistants, 2 laboratory assistants.

Department of History of Kazakhstan, cultural studies, philosophy, political science, sociology, is one of the leading departments KazNMU them. S.D.Asfendiyarova. It was founded in 1931. as the Department of Marxism-Leninism, SD Asfendiyarov, who was the first of its head. Turdalieva Botagoz Saitovna is Deputy Director of the School of Public Health named after Kh.Dosmuhamedov, Director of the Center of Evidence-Based Medicine of KazNMU, team leader for the development of fundraising  at the university.

Doctoral dissertation on the theme: «Evidence-based approaches to prevention of chronic diseases in modern conditions» in the specialty 14.00.33 — Public health and health care.

ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT


Educational activities.

The Department provides educational services for pre- and postgraduate level.

At postgraduate level, trains graduate students the following specialties: 6M110100 — Medical 6M110200 — Public Health, 6M110300 — Nursing, 6M110400 — Pharmacy,6M110500 — Health-care business, Ph doctoral students majoring 6D110200 — Public health, and residents.

At the undergraduate level department trains students 2, 3, 5 courses of the faculties of general medicine, pharmacy, public health nursing full-time, extramural students in Kazakh, Russian and English in the following disciplines: «Principles of evidence-based medicine», «Strengthening of Health and disease prevention, «» Fundamentals of health Policy and Management «,»Organization of GPs «,» Hospital management «,» Management of health services ‘,’ laws of health».

The main disciplines that are taught at the Department of postgraduate level is: Health Policy and Management, health promotion and social science, strategic planning in health care, operational management, evidence-based medicine, medical statistics in health care and pharmacy, public health, management of health services management, quality of care, planning and organization of research and new organizational approaches to create a unified national health system.

The department also conducts training for representatives of practical public health in cycles «Effective management of health care organizations in the PVC», «Nursing Management», «Health Care Management.»

 

Research activities

The department is engaged in research work and is responsible for implementing the study of epidemiological unit of scientific and technical program «Development of a model anti-aging active in ensuring longevity of the elderly» (2010-2011) as part of the «Concept of development of medical science at the Kazakh National Medical University. S.D Asfendiyarov 2009-2012».

Actively developing scientific field among young scientists. Only in 2011, attending the department approved the research topics of dissertations on various aspects and important areas of public health, including 17 graduate students of 2nd year students, 3PhD students of 2nd year study, 6 graduate students of 1st year students and 6 doctoral PhD 1 second year of study.

 

Community Activities.

The department is actively engaged in social activities, conducts many workshops at the university, national and international levels.

Thus, in order to enhance the educational process, development of international partnerships and increased interaction with the medical universities in the Republic of Kazakhstan, activities include:

From 30 November to 4 December 2009, the Department held an international seminar for graduate students and faculty entitled «Management in Public health and Evidence-based medicine» (management of public health and evidence-based medicine), inviting teachers from Israel Aviv Zohar — Director of Nursing of Internal, Geriatric and Cardiology division, Kaplan Medical Center and Ella Muler — Director of Nursing, Oncology and Hematology, Rambam Health Care Campus.

Each year, members of the department in conjunction with the Center for Evidence-Based Medicine, School of Public Health named after Kh.Dosmuhamedov organize and conduct the International Winter School «Actual issues of public health» for senior students of KazNMU and other medical schools. In 2009, in Winter School took medical students of Kazakhstan (JSC «Medical University — Astana», Karagandy State Medical Academy, Semey State Medical Academy, West — Kazakhstan Medical Academy. M. Ospanov South — Kazakhstan State Medical Academy).Students are lectured National Academy of Sciences of RK T.Sh.Sharmanov, Academician of RAMS V.Z Kucherenko (Russia), Prof. T.S Meimanaliev (Kyrgyzstan), Prof. M.K Kulzhanov, Professor A.A. Akanov, Professor K.A Tulebaev, Professor M.Asimov, Professor U.I. Kenessary, Professor T.K. Rakhypbekov and other experts in the field of public health.

The second annual International Winter School «Actual issues of public health: strengthening and maintaining the health of young people» was conducted from January 24 to January 28, 2011 for students of 4th and 5th year courses from the medical universities of the country, as well as the University of «Turan». Opening of the Second Annual International Winter School «Actual issues of public health: building and maintaining the health of young people» tooks place in the Hall of Fame. The opening of the Winter School attended Rector of KazNMU named after S.D. The Department of the Center for Evidence-Based Medicine, School of Public Health named after Kh.Dosmuhamedov for master’s students, doctoral students and young scientists organizes and conducts the annual International Summer School «Selected problems of public health» with domestic and foreign scholars in the field of public health. In 2009, the annual International Summer School on the theme: «The modern hospital management. Patient safety: infection control in hospitals. Patients’ rights«. Specifically to attend the Summer School invited Professor Sim Sang Tiang (Parkway College, Singapore), which held a master class and highlighted the following questions: «Health and Wealth», «Human Resource Management in Health Care», «The accreditation standards for hospitals», » Health systems in Singapore «, etc. The meeting was attended by 16 teachers of KazNMU named after S.DAsfendiyarov, 13 undergraduates a year, nine graduate 2 year, 3 graduate from Graduate School of Public Health.
Second Annual International Summer School, held a 6-11 June 2011., Went on: «Selected problems of public health. Quality care — key to sustainable development in health care«, marking the 20th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The summer school held with the participation of an international organization USAID. The main topics in the Summer School: the quality of medical services, the role of evidence-based medicine to ensure the quality of care.

The Department organizes and conducts international seminars on the program «Visiting Professors».

From June 27 to July 8, 2011. seminar «Management Research: Design Research» with an invitation to the following international experts:
• Gimmelfarb Yuri E. — a specialist regional branch of the Ministry of Health (Mr. Rehovot, Israel);
• Michael Kagansky — Director of Emergency Care in Geriatric Hospital Herzfeld (Israel);
• Zohar Aviv — Director of Geriatric cardiology department and the Medical Center ‘Kaplan’ (city of Rehovot, Israel).
Welcoming remarks were made rector of KazNMU named after S.DAsfendiyarov, Professor A.A Akanov and Director of the School of Public Health. Kh. Dosmukhamedov of KazNMU, Professor K.A Tulebayev.
From 19 September to 13 October 2011 a seminar on the course «Statistics», with Dzhusupov K. — PhD, a specialist in the management of grant programs TEMPUS.

From September 14 to September 27, 2011. a seminar on «Management of hospital work: Health care financing and health insurance.» Lectures, workshops and consultations held Jacob Zilberg-leading expert and organizer of the hospital business in Israel.

From October 3 to October 8, 2011 held a seminar on «Health Care Reforms in the world and the views of WHO, and the reforms in a comparative perspective» involving MD, professor, a member of WHO — Meymanaliev Tilek.

On October 19 and October 25, conducts international seminars for undergraduates, doctoral students, the faculty of the University, representatives from other medical universities and representatives from health care on «Foundations of clinical research at medical institutions», «Fundamentals of nursing ethics», «Gerontology».

The topics today in all developed countries are very relevant for public health organizers, and for professionals working in the field of science and education, including the Republic of Kazakhstan. Inviting leading scholars from other countries allowed creating a rich program of exchange of scientific knowledge in the field of management research, the design of research projects in the field of public health and public health.

In the future department plans to expand the program «Visiting Professors» in order to enhance the educational process of gaining new scientific knowledge and exchange of experience in public health and research.

Department of foreign languages

Department of foreign languages was founded in 1934. Kenesbayev Smet Kenesbayevich after graduating from the Leningrad oriental institute on specialty “Linguist-ethnographer” was the first to head the department of foreign languages.

At different years there worked the following heads of this department as: Kurmangaliyev G.I. (1938-1940), Pogrebinskaya T.I. (1940-1950), Shvedova Ye.G. (1951-1966), Kurmanov M.Sh. (1966-1974), Issayeva R.F. (1974-1975), Issabekova Sh.I. (1976-1987), Abdygapparova S.K. (1987-1995), Kesheleva K.T. (1995-1998). From 1998y. by the decision of the university Academic council the department of Russian language with a course of common theoretic disciplines and department of foreign languages with a course of Latin language were united into one department . Tlegenova S.Ye. was appointed a head of this department (1998-2006).

Nowadays the department is headed by Suleimenova Oran Yakhmetovna, an excellent worker of RK Public Health, Candidate of pedagogical sciences, assistant professor, a member of RK association of German teachers.

In 2011-2012 academic year a staff of the department includes 29 workers, of them 1 assistant professor, 8 senior teachers, 20 teachers and 4 laboratorians. English and German teachers of

At the department  the students of the 1st and 2nd courses of all faculties, and also mastership students and residents are taught English and German languages.

Many experienced teachers as assistant professor Suleimenova O.Ya., senior teachers Sadykova A.A., Sagantayeva S.Kh., Biktasheva G.M., Yelenova A.K., Lozenko I.V. , Unasbayeva G.A., Mezgilbayeva Z.M., Bayanbayeva A.A., teachers Ultanbekova Z.T., Kaibaldiyeva B.M., Bizhanova A.A. and others who give the students all their knowledge, work at the department.

The teachers of the department take part in the methodic, scientific research and educational work. There were edited the Standard program on foreign languages for the students of High medical schools, a methodic textbook on German phonetics for medical students, a German textbook for the 1st year medical students studying in Russian and Kazakh, an English textbook for students-stomatologists, an English textbook for students-pharmaceutists and chemists-technologists, a textbook for students-pharmaceutists on self-studying German language.

The great interest both as for students and teachers have meetings with famous scientists – doctors, interesting people, representatives of different educational programmes such as fund “Soros — Kazakhstan”, management of Gete Institute, training, holding by professor from Keniya on the problems of AIDS, meeting with representatives of the American embassy on the problems of studying abroad, managers of international programmes “Bolashak”, representatives of educational programme in Germany DAAD, with scholars from Canada, America, Japan studying on President’s programme. The participants of meetings made their speeches in the English and German languages.

Special interest and motivation to learning foreign languages at students have optional lessons holding in the forms of debates, discussions, trainings: “New generation of medical students”, “New educational programmes”, “The Leader of the 21st century”, “Learning official and international languages”.

Country studying aspect is a compulsory component of all types of out of class activity. Contests: “Do you know Great Britain?”, “Traditions and customs of English and German speaking countries”, “Do you know about German speaking countries?”, “Deutsch im Herzen” – these activities are planning as organic continuation of classes and practical realization of given skills and habits at lessons on foreign languages.

The demonstrative optional lessons “Famous universities of Europe”, “Welcome to Great Britain” about history of famous European universities of Oxford, Cambridge and Sorbon are carried out at the department.

There is a tradition on the department of holding literary soirees in the English and German languages: “Thinker poet-writer-playwright-F. Shiller and Gete”, “World legends”, “Symbolism of O. Wilde’s creative work”, “Romanticism in J.G. Byron’s creative work”, contests of songs in English, German, French, Japanese, Turkish and other languages.

All activities of educational character are of great importance, they are held in state and foreign languages, contribute to the enlargement of students’ outlook, develop their creative abilities and raise their interest for learning foreign languages.

There is a tendency to organization of new types of educational work, such as discussions, debates, briefings, trainings, intellectual games.

There was worked out EMCD on SCSE-2006 for the students of the 1st, 2nd   courses of all faculties to introduce the   credit educational technologies.

Every year the teachers improve their qualification on methods of foreign languages teaching and innovative technologies.at the Institute of quality improvement of Kazakh university of  international relations and world languages   named after Al-Farabi.

All teachers improved their specialization on information technology, psychology, Kazakh language on the base of KazNMU.

The teachers of the department carry out numerous scientific-research works. For the last three years    more than 670 scientific articles were   published on methods of foreign language teaching in medical high schools. The teachers of the chair take an active participation   in the work of International and Republican conferences of KazNMU, KazSACA.  Participants   of SSC translate scientific article, reviews, annotations, summaries and etc. together with their teachers. Students have prepared more than 40 reports in foreign languages under the guidance of their teachers.

Educational work is carried out as follows:

  • Spiritual-moral;
  • Legal;
  • Popularization of healthy mode of life.

Optional lessons under the title:”Meнің елім-Менің жерім», «Ана тілің-арың бұл»,”My motherland is Kazakhstan” are conducted for   the popularization of state language.   Within the framework of KazNMU three languages teaching program of the University  Olympiad “Tілдарын” is traditionally carried out in order to  develop  language competence in students, increase their interest and motivation for learning Kazakh, Russian and foreign languages.

Department of Economics in Public Health

Department of «Economics in Public Health» was as organized at the Department of the «History of Kazakhstan, culture and economic theory» and acts as an independent chair of the Faculty, «Health Care Management and Pharmacy» in 2007. The first head of the department is associate professor, Ph.D. Alshynbay Aynur Muhtarovna. The faculty of the department includes a doctorate in economics, three candidates of economic sciences, 3 assistant professors and 5 lecturers. Many of the younger members of the department to improve the professional skills taught in graduate and are working on master’s thesis. Since 2009, the chair of the candidate of economic sciences Sadyrov Gani Aueskhanovich — professional qualifications, teaching of more than 100 years.
